    Nearly every profession relies on data to succeed. And with the huge quantities of digital information being collected and exchanged in today’s marketplace, the demand for trained data scientists is higher than ever. The STEM-designated Data Science Program at GW's Columbian College of Arts and Sciences prepares students to meet that need and enter competitive careers in government, technology, private industry and much more. Data Science, and the associated areas referred to as big data and data analytics, is a rapidly emerging technology field fueled by the dramatic growth in the amount of data involved in most areas of society. The graduate certificate in data science program allows students to study fundamental ideas that underlie large data systems and document a knowledge base for work in data intensive jobs. Through a structured curriculum that provides foundational knowledge as well as application skills, students in the Data Science program learn how to confront the most complex problems across both government and private industry using data-driven decisions.

            The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) is the gold standard in global certification for medical laboratory professionals and has certified nearly 600,000 individuals. We are the first and largest certification agency. Since our inception in 1928, the BOC continues to set a high standard for quality and continuing competency.

            General Vessey Graduate Endowment Fellowship Award

            The fellowship is being created to recognize the importance of conflict prevention in an increasingly complicated and dangerous world. Established in 2007 by General John W. Vessey, USA (Ret.). The income earned by this fund will provide support for graduate students in the School of Business with preference given to disabled US veterans.

Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), opened on October 1, 2010, and is the United States' first federal health care center that partners the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense into a single, fully integrated federal health care facility. The medical center is located in North Chicago, Illinois, and is on the grounds of the former North Chicago VA Medical Center, opened on 1 March 1926. The consolidation of Navy, Army and Air Force medical enlisted training is the largest in Department of Defense history. The Tri-Service Medical Education and Training Campus will be the world's largest military medical education and training institution.

                Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), also known as Bob Wilson Naval Hospital and informally referred to as "Balboa Hospital", or “The Pink Palace” is a technologically advanced Navy medical treatment facility. Located within the grounds of Balboa Park in San Diego, the hospital has played a role in the history of San Diego for more than 100 years. The goal has remained constant, to provide the finest medical care in a family-centered care environment to operational forces, their families, and veterans. Organizationally, the hospital is first and foremost a military command.

                Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) is the result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission legislation that required the bulk of enlisted technical medical training in the Army, Air Force, and Navy to be co-located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. As a result, four major learning institutions for Navy and Air Force relocated to Fort Sam Houston, where the Army was already training its enlisted medical force under the Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDD C&S) Academy of Health Sciences. The Naval School of Health Sciences (NSHS) in San Diego, California; NSHS in Portsmouth, Virginia; Navy Hospital Corps School (NHCS) in Great Lakes, Illinois; and the 882d Training Group (Now the 59th TRG) at Sheppard Air Force Base moved to Fort Sam Houston. METC became the largest military medical education and training campus in the world.

                Naval Hospital Corps School was the United States Navy's only basic hospital corpsman school. It was located within Lake County, Illinois. It was established in January 1913. It is an "A" School. Its mission is to field Basic Hospital Corpsmen into the fleet. The mission of Naval Hospital Corps School is to develop, teach basic principles and techniques of patient care and first aid procedures and put forward Hospital Corpsmen into the fleet: aboard ships, aboard Naval Hospitals, Department of Defense medical facilities, with United States Marine Corps units, or elsewhere.

                Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes (RTC Great Lakes), is a unit within the United States Navy primarily responsible for conducting the initial orientation and indoctrination of incoming recruits, also known as boot camp and recruit training, or RTC. It is part of Naval Service Training Command. It is a tenant command of Naval Station Great Lakes in the city of North Chicago, Illinois, in Lake County, north of Chicago. Called "The Quarterdeck of the Navy" since it opened in July 1911, RTC Great Lakes has been the service's only enlisted basic training location since 1994. All enlistees into the U.S. Navy begin their service at RTC Great Lakes with at least ten weeks of training, and more if they do not pass certain tests. Upon completion of basic training, qualifying sailors are sent to various apprenticeship, or "A schools", located across the United States for training in their occupational speciality, or ratings. Those who have not yet received a specific rating enter the fleet with a general designation of airman, fireman, construction man or seaman.
